If you use something long enough, it will wear out or break.
I'm often asked where to get parts. I always get them from the same two places, Small Engine Parts Warehouse and The OEM Parts Store. Both shops have fair pricing, usually cheaper or similarly priced to other suppliers. They will also give you realistic timelines of when you can expect your parts. Basically, I feel like I'm dealing with humans and not some faceless corporation.
I've listed some parts that commonly fail below. If you need something else, look for Replacement Parts List under your mower model in the Document Library.
If using the old style Ryobi charger with a hollow circle in the charge plug or an aftermarket EZGO RXV style charger, you'll need to break the two plastic tabs inside the new charge port. This is easily done with a pair of needle nose pliers.

These are T30 M6 x 16mm with a 13.5mm head. If you don't mind using a hex bit instead of a torx bit, you can get something similar on Amazon.

Often you can move the wires to the aux side of the switch to avoid having to replace it.
You can also use an aftermarket 19mm key switch. I use a file to flatten one side of the threads to fit the D-shaped hole in the panel.

It's been reported that the Stens 430-457 or Grasshopper 183870 will work and is much cheaper. You can find it on Amazon.

See Greg Handley's video for changing bearings. I'll add bearing sizes for other models as I get them. Contact me if you have them.
It's best to use the stock blades on your mower. The biggest complaint is they are thin and bend easily when you hit a root. While blades from other Ryobi mowers and after market blades might fit, using a heavier blade will affect battery life. Others who have tried using heavier blades reported, when they hit something, instead of the blade bending, the motor shaft bent. So, stick with the stock blades and keep a spare set on hand just in case.
The blades are available from Home Depot or Ryobi. You can also sometimes find them on Direct Tools Factory Outlet.
If you're trying to match the Ryobi green, these are what others have used.
You may find your battery or power cables are damaged, missing, or need to be extended. You can always buy a replacement for the stock battery cable, but sometimes it makes sense to create something new. Here are some supplies for making your own cables.Â
I've also included the hydraulic crimping tool I use for securing terminals to large gauge wire. If you're looking for a cheaper option, a hammer crimping tool is a good option for occasional use.
It took me a while to find wide lugs like these. You'll get a better connection and these will hold up better than the ones with narrower pads. The quality is great and you'll be very happy with these. The 5/16" (M8) size will fit most batteries.
Available on Amazon with or without shrink tubing.
For the RM300, see the 8 AWG lugs.
The connections to the in-line fuse are M6, so you will need these if replacing that section of cable. Like all SELTERM connectors, these are excellent quality.
Available on Amazon.
For the RM300, see the 8 AWG lugs.
The RM300 has M6 ring terminals, but most batteries use M8 terminals. These can be used to convert them.
Available on Amazon.
The battery connects to the mower through an Anderson connector. You can also use this style of connector to attach chargers and inverters directly to the battery.
Available on Amazon.
For the RM300, see the 50A connectors.
The RM300, due to it's lower power draw, uses 8 AWG cables and smaller 50A Anderson connectors.
Available on Amazon.
A hydraulic crimping tool makes it much easier to crimp larger sized terminals. This one has dies foe 12 AWG all the way up to 2/0 AWG. I did find it often made sense to go back over crimp with the next size down with some connectors to get a really tight connection.
Sells for $40 or less on Amazon.
When looking for a battery cable, you want to make sure it's solid copper and not CCA (copper clad aluminum) which you may see for a lower price. This cable is high quality and very flexible with a soft insulation jacket. You'll find it's easier to work with than the stock cable, especially in the cold.
This item comes with 3ft each of black and red cable, but you also get it in other lengths up to 30ft and other gauges. Available on Amazon.
For the RM300, see the 8 AWG Cable.
The RM300, due to it's lower power draw, uses 8 AWG cables.
This item comes with 5ft each of black and red cable, but you also get it in other lengths up to 30ft and other gauges. Available on Amazon.
